Hiya! I made a "day" community for Matsumoto Jun. It's like the other day communities out there. A picture of Jun will be posted once a day. Feel free to join!
But the original intent of "daily" communities was to have stuff related to that person post each day - essentially, a picture of Jun each day is part of the function of jun_daily. So why have one community that's for only a tiny part of what another community already exists to do? Why not just...post a picture of Jun each day in jun_daily?
you do have a point. maybe people might think that'd be spamming a community? why not just have a community that posts pictures a day so that others don't get annoyed with their friends list? ryo_watch is a ryo nishikido-based community but yet they also have a ryoaday.

Just because it exists does not mean it's a good idea XD
There just seems to be a lot of overlap in communities lately, which leads to more crossposting, which is more of a spam problem than anything else since it's the same exact thing popping up 3-4 times in a row. If you sign up for a community that has "daily" in the title, you're accepting that you're going to get daily posts to your flist. If people get annoyed with that, they shouldn't be in the community to begin with.
yeah but people don't seem to mind, no? xD imo, i don't really mind crossposting at all. a lot of other artists also have _aday communities as well as regular ones and people usually don't seem to mind. i guess it's more of the favorite artists? lmao. i do agree with what you're saying but in the end the two communities will still thrive.
Plenty of people (myself included) seem to mind crossposting and the creation of a ton of communities for the same thing. That's why whenever moderators ask what people would like improved, there's always a ton of comments about crossposting, and comments about the abundance of copy-cat communities always show up on those hate memes. It's just too bad few people actually make constructive, helpful suggestions IN the communities, rather than complaining about it anonymously.
And....as I said to the other commenter, that doesn't justify anything. There are LOTS of people who post spam, LOTS of people who try to rip off other fans by selling JE goods at outrageous prices, LOTS of communities for the same writers to post the same fanfics, LOTS of LOTS of people who steal translations/scans/downloads/icons and claim them as their own, etc etc. So as long as there are LOTS of people doing something, it's a good idea?
Err. You do have a point hontowa. But if that's what the mod wants to do with his/her community, you don't really have the right to judge or anything. |: If you do not agree with this particular community, just leave it alone. [:
