arashi_onOkay so I wrote this song some time ago, just haven't got the time to record the full song. Yeah I wrote this, music & lyrics, go on and laugh XD
Just wanted to create a song meant for Arashi fans, whom (plural) I call 旭 Asahi - rising sun, it's actually my name lol. So here's this song Arashi no Asahi. It's written in English, and the only Japanese parts are those taken from A.Ra.Shi's rap, and "Arashi ga yatte kuru". I am painfully aware that I suck at singing fast songs, and not to mention, rapping T.T it's just a demo, so bear with me okay?
I persoanally like the chorus, the "It's a storm struck down" part^^. I hope you guys can share your thoughts with me, cause I'm actually planning to arrange this song properly and record it in a studio, you know plus mixing and stuffs XD
Please at least listen to this song once, thoroughly; and if possible, comment^^

and I like it that you mixd Arashi lyrics , and some parts of their music like "this is only the begging" ohno's solo =D

Date: 2008-10-20 02:58 pm (UTC)However, I really don't think you need the rap at all. It seems to detract from the true power of your voice. It may seem empty without the rap because right now it's just the piano and you but I think if you get it properly mixed it won't need the rap at all.
That's just my opinion though. I know nothing technical about music - I just like the feel of it and yours feels pretty good. XDDD

Date: 2008-10-21 04:44 am (UTC)1. agree with rininjapan, as we have both agreed before, rap for both of is just.... ma ma, you get it. it's not bad but like rin said, it's not necessary. but my comment would be that i love the idea of using A.RA.SHI.. therefore, would you be able to find someone with a more bass(ic) voice to do the rap?
2. agree with someone above that you could consider incorporating other Arashi songs into the song.
3. the song is quick but very dramatic as if it's from an awesome movie. this is just a suggestion but why not add something like the first 15 sec or so of Jay Chou's newest song 龍戰騎士? like a prelude or something..... because your song and Jay's song have a similar texture? I'm not sure if that's the right word. I actually don't know how to play instrumnets and all i'm capable as many say is only singing.... yet, i can hardly ravel against yours.

5. it's no where near cheesy
6. like rin mentioned, although piano is fine but would you consider using some other instruments too? like truth, it uses violin etc and now that i think of it more, your song also shares similarities with 'truth', it would be nice to hear some strings.... (cello? it adds weight i think...)
7. another thing, with songs these days, i notice the composers enjoy putting in 'interesting' sounds eg like aiba chan's friendship has the sound og photoframes sliding and sho chan's hip hop boogie has the sound of inserting a tape. so what do you think? add some? well, after hearing it nearly 10 times, i was thinking maybe the sound of opening a window? because i keep having an image when i hear your song that i just got up and went to open my window and the sun just peaked out from the sea's horizon in the distant, lighting up the purple dark background like Arashi and then a breeze comes and sweeps me off the floor and i'm like flying towards that sun... ok, sorry for rambling but it's really up-lifting and heart0felt, something like flying , literally soaring up to the sky....
8. i've said too much maybe.... gomen if anything above offended you.... i get so carried away when i'm in the mood and besides when i look at my phone's music list, your rendition of take me faraway still is pn eof the top played songs XD

Hmm i haven't heard 龍戰騎士 ne. Maybe i'll go bug my Jay-fan friend XD yes i do plan to get my friends who play other instruments to record with me (they're all experts in violin/flute/drums/cello - but getting them to agree is a problem, heh)
See how it goes, maybe i'll get the guy working in the studio to try some effects^^

I was listening the song with my earphone--so I could get all the parts of the song. I even maximized the volume of my speaker to actually hear the rap part (LOL I know you don't want us to hear it clearly XD) And also, I thought like "Eh! This part sounds like Ohno's Rain" before I realized that people have pointed it before in comments XD
But I do think that we fans really need a fans-dedicated song like this. If you've already got the studio ver, or got the audio-file or such. Will mean a lot for us, thanks for sharing ^^
