I think it's the annual count as from the look of it , the guys were at no.15 last year & I know it's cool that they're the only JE act on the list

from what i'm seeing on Oricon's site , this's what I have found for the past 4 year's stats : http://rn-cdn.oricon.co.jp/news/ranking/46513/ .

last year Utada was at no.1 again , she was at no.4 2 years ago & vice versa

they only showed the top10 for the past 4 years unfortunately

on a side note, i think this is really an achievement for Arashi and JE in general. i don't think it's a surprise that JE groups don't usually get into the top list for Oricon because their target market is very specialised (females... XD) and idol-focused. not saying that it's bad, of course (don't we love it all? XDDD) but the music industry in Japan is much more complicated than that, isn't it? :)

yeah I know what you mean . even other established JE acts ie. the guys's semapais like SMAP , KinKi Kids , V6 are not on the list & it's really something that ARASHI's the only JE band on the list . They must be doing something right isn't it ?
